Gangtok
Gangtok is not only the capital city of Sikkim but also the tourist capital of this state. Attracting thousands of tourists every year Gangtok is a very popular attraction in Sikkim. This alluring city offers its visitors tons of attractions, the best accommodation, scenic beauty, and the best traditional and non-traditional foods. It is also a base for a lot of other destinations like Tsongmo Lake, Nathula Pass, and almost all North Sikkim destinations.
Nathula Pass
Situated on the Indo-Tibetian border about 14450 ft above sea level Nathula is one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Famous for its picturesque beauty and beautiful environment it is one of the three open trading border posts between India and China. It has picturesque landscapes, alpine orchards, and majestic mountain views which make it an amazing destination. Nathula can only be visited as a day trip as it offers no accommodation to its visitors.
Pelling
The second biggest tourist destination of Sikkim Pelling is a beautiful town located in the western district. It is famous for the breathtaking site of Mt Kanchenjunga and its neighboring peaks. It is also home to the famous Pemayangste monastery and the Sky Walk which makes it a major tourist destination. Pelling offers various activities to its visitors including mountain biking, rock climbing, village tours, and meditations and serves as a base for the various number of treks.
Tsongmo Lake
Popularly known as Changu Lake it is one of the few high-altitude lakes of Sikkim. This lake offers overwhelming scenic beauty as it is enveloped by steep snow-capped mountains and rests between the bright green carpet of the alpine forest. The charming beauty of this lake attracts tons of visitors and is one of the most prominent tourist attractions of Sikkim. During winter the lake freezes from the snowfall and creates this mesmerizing view while in spring the area around the lake is filled with rhododendron blooms making it a picturesque scene and an unforgettable experience.
Lachen
Located in the northern district of Sikkim Lachen are a beautiful village and an attractive tourist spot in the state. Full of natural beauty and serene vegetation and is famous for its Lachen Monastery. It is a less populated beautiful destination and the gateway to the sacred Gurudongmar and Tso Lhamu lakes. It is used as a base for many trekking areas in north Sikkim and contains beautiful grassland and shrubs along with apple orchards.
Lachung
Lachung is a village in Sikkim that has majestic mountains and serene beauty that attracts a lot of tourists every year. It has several snow-covered mountains, sparkling streams, apple orchards, snowy peaks, amazing waterfalls, and much more. Lachung is used as a base to visit some famous attractions like Yumthang Valley and Zero point. The market of Lachung is filled with handicrafts such as woven rugs, blankets accessories, and souvenirs.
Yuksom
Located in the western region of Sikkim Yuksom is an alluring place known for its natural beauty. This village is situated in the heart of the mountains covered with lush green vegetation. Often used as a base camp for some of the most adventurous treks of Sikkim it contains scenic beauty with a peaceful atmosphere. Ravangla
Situated at the base of Menam Hill Ravangla glorious views of Kanchenjunga along with its sister peaks of Pandim, Kabru, Sinialchu, and many others. It lies on the edge separating the Teesta valley and the Rangit valley and the main attraction of this town is the snow-covered mountains. Full of natural diversity, exotic flora and fauna, thick forests, majestic snow mountains, waterfalls, and a fresh atmosphere Ravangla is one of the best places to lay back and relax.
